Welcome to Paulaner Bräuhaus Munich

The Paulaner Bräuhaus at Kapuzinerplatz was the first ever Paulaner brewhouse. In 1889, the brothers Eugen and Ludwig Thomas brewed a beer that tasted fresher than any other beer before it. The people of Munich clearly loved it – and thus the first full-bodied Munich lager was born!

As a result of constant efforts to attain the very highest level of quality, the bar flourished and the Thomasbräu public house quickly became popular. The old building was gradually restored as an accurate recreation of the original, the central focus always being the historical brewing vats.

To this day, our master brewer brews our beers just as they have always been brewed, according to the purity law of 1516. Due to the short distance from the brewing vats to the glass, our beer is always fresh from the tap.

Prost!
